Dr. Ellis joined the Department of Surgery and Pediatrics, Section of Neurosurgery at the University of Manitoba in June 2013. He is presently the Medical Director of the Pan Am Concussion Program a provincial government-funded program devoted to the multi-disciplinary clinical management of pediatric concussion. He also holds a scientist appointment at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba and is Co-Director of the Canada North Concussion Network.

Dr. Ellis completed his Honours Bachelor of Science (Psychology), Bachelor of Science (Medicine) and medical school training at the University of Manitoba. Afterwards he completed his neurosurgical residency training at the University of Toronto during which time he also completed a fellowship in Concussion Spectrum Disorders with world-leading concussion expert Dr. Charles Tator.

He is also a Member of the Manitoba Neuroscience Society, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a Member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
