National Injury Prevention Day (NIPD) spreads the message about the importance of injury prevention across Canada. We share messages on the importance of injury prevention and encourage our partners and supporters to do the same, tagging their social media posts with the hashtags #ParachuteNIPD and #TurnSafetyOn.

In 2021, we had more than 6.3 million social media impressions with posts and shares on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram from Monday, July 5 to Friday, July 9.

We also launched The Cost of Injury In Canada 2021 report on July 5, 2021 and, in that same time period, the hashtag #CostOfInjury2021 drew 2 million additional social media impressions on Twitter and Instagram.

Health leaders such as Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, and Health Canada joined our campaign.

Health Canada was just one of 243 organizations from the private sector, non-profit sector, government, and health care across Canada who created their own social media posts or shared information provided by Parachute to raise awareness about injury prevention.
